AutoSport Catalog

HOMEPAGE REDESIGN

The biggest ongoing project that I've been in charge of at AutoSport Catalog has been maintaining and upgrading the homepage. For an added frame of reference, click here to view a screenshot of the AutoSport Catalog homepage from the day I started and then here to see a sceen shot as of February 2013.

These three pieces are the bulk of what appears above the fold when you load the AutoSport homepage. It was very important for me to reinvent this block because it serves as the first impression made to the customers when they came to shop.

The first upgrade was modifying a pre-existing content slider (Nivo Slider) and making it a featured product & category rotator.

Below that, I designed and implemented an image to display the top three promises made to an AutoSport Customer. Upon mouseOver, an additional box appears with more text. This helped in adding consumer confidence to the customer and adding in a few more critical terms in our SEO campaign.

The last box evolved over the course of the project. Originally, it was a flat box just for Featured Categories. What is there now came out of a desire to have more featured products without sacrificing any more vertical real estate. This jQuery script allows the customer to view up to 24 more products, while keeping them out of sight. This also gave us a slight boost in the SEO of those additional 24 products.

The first first major element that the browser sees below the folder, 8 major brands are showcased with links to the respective sections. This was designed to keep the UI/UX consistent with the thumbnails earlier on the page.

There is another customer service banner to reinforce the pride in which AutoSport Catalog takes in its customer service. This banner is used across the page to serve as a constant reminder of the service that customers can expect from AutoSport.

AutoSport Catalog is primarily a web entity, which puts more pressure on delivering the best SEO treatment possible. This block primarily serves to enhance the SEO campaigns of these five featured categories.

The footer is something that is often overlooked in web design, however I feel it is critical for e-commerce success. I designed this to contain all of the pertinent information for information on the company. I also moved the e-mail signup form from the header based on research that most consumers wanting to opt-in to a company's e-mail list will look to the bottom for it first. Also, while living in the header many costumers misused it as a search field.

EMAIL CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT

An ongoing role at AutoSport Catalog has been to act as the team lead for our e-mail program. This includes planning the campaigns, redesigning the template, designing the individual campaigns, deploying the campaigns using Arial's Campaign Enterprise software, tracking the success of the campaign in Google Analytics and our proprietary tracking system, and then reporting back the results of the campaigns to the rest of the marketing department and my superiors. Below is a gallery of my favorite creative treatments from the e-mail program.
